Is $97/Month Still Worth It? Honest Verdict on the Rebuilt Funnel Builder
ClickFunnels 2.0 is the rebuilt version of the platform that basically invented the sales funnel space. The original ClickFunnels (version 1) changed how online marketers think about conversion. Now in 2.0, they've rebuilt it from the ground up and added everything: courses, CRM, email, blog, a store, and analytics.
But here's the honest take: it's still fundamentally a funnel builder. Everything else it does is good but not best-in-class. You're paying for the funnel builder expertise and template library, not for world-class email or CRM features.
The templates are legitimately the differentiator. I've built funnels on Systeme.io, LeadPages, Unbounce, and ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels' template library is larger and better organized than all of them. There are pre-built webinar funnels, product launch funnels, VSL funnels, ecommerce funnels, membership funnels, coaching funnels — the variety is legitimately impressive.
Click-to-build sales pages, thank you pages, upsell pages, and order forms. The template library includes webinar funnels, product launch funnels, VSL funnels, ecommerce funnels, lead funnels — legitimately comprehensive. I built a product launch funnel in 40 minutes from a blank ClickFunnels template.
Host courses directly in ClickFunnels with lesson videos, progress tracking, quiz functionality, and completion tracking. Not as full-featured as Kajabi or Teachable, but solid for most use cases. Integrates with your funnel — students go through a sales funnel, then access your course.
Native email sequences, broadcasts, and automations. You can trigger emails based on funnel actions (e.g., email 12 hours after someone buys). The functionality is solid, but it's not as sophisticated as ConvertKit for segmentation or ActiveCampaign for complex automation.
Built-in contacts database, pipeline visualization, and lead scoring. Basic compared to Pipedrive or Salesforce, but it's enough for most digital marketers. You can see where leads are in your sales process at a glance.
A fully functional CMS for publishing blog posts. Traffic can flow from your blog into your funnels. It's a nice-to-have but not a reason to choose ClickFunnels over a dedicated blogging tool.
Create a product store with shopping carts, inventory management, and product variants. Works well for digital and physical products. Upsells and order bumps are easy to set up.
Split test headlines, copy, images, and calls-to-action. The A/B testing actually works well — I tested two headlines on a product page and ClickFunnels detected a statistically significant winner after 2 days. The winner increased conversions by 11%.
Funnel conversion tracking, page analytics, revenue reporting, and visitor flow visualization. You can see exactly where people are dropping off in your funnel and identify optimization opportunities.
A webinar registration funnel for a product launch. Landing page → email optin → confirmation page → thank you page. Then we created a upsell funnel and an order bumps sequence after the initial purchase.
Here's what actually happened: I used one of ClickFunnels' pre-built webinar registration funnels as the starting template. Spent 40 minutes customizing headlines, copy, colors, and images. Deployed it live. The funnel worked.
The template quality is genuinely ahead of Systeme.io. The pre-built webinar funnel had every element I needed: a compelling headline, benefit bullets, testimonials section, FAQ, a strong CTA, and a fully designed thank-you page. With Systeme.io's free plan, I would have started from a blank canvas and built it from scratch.
The A/B testing feature actually moved the needle. I had two headlines that I couldn't decide between. ClickFunnels let me split-test them. After 48 hours of traffic, ClickFunnels showed that Headline B had a 11% higher click-through rate. I switched to Headline B permanently and saw a proportional increase in webinar registrations.
The honest limitation: everything outside the funnel builder feels like an add-on. The email marketing is good but you wouldn't choose ClickFunnels primarily for email. The CRM works but Pipedrive is better. The course hosting works but Kajabi is more specialized. You're choosing ClickFunnels for funnels, and everything else is a bonus.
| Feature | Basic ($97/mo) | Pro ($297/mo) | Funnel Hacker ($497/mo) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Custom domains | 1 | 3 | 9 |
| Funnels allowed | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Contacts allowed | 10,000 | 25,000 | Unlimited |
| Affiliate programme | No | Yes | Yes |
| Team members | 1 | 3 | Unlimited |
| Stripe payment | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| API access | No | Yes | Yes |
Basic ($97/mo) — Start here if you have one main business domain and under 5k email contacts. The contact limit is the main constraint. You can always upgrade later.
Pro ($297/mo) — Move here when you hit 10k+ contacts or you're running multiple business domains. The affiliate programme access is valuable if you want partners promoting your products. API access unlocks integrations with Zapier and other tools.
Funnel Hacker ($497/mo) — Only if you're running a multi-seven-figure business with multiple team members and unlimited contact growth. Most people don't need this.
Honest comparison: ClickFunnels Basic ($97) vs Systeme.io free is the real decision point. If you're bootstrapping and have zero revenue, Systeme.io's free tier is genuinely sufficient. If you're already making $5k+ per month and want to optimize conversion rate and scaling, ClickFunnels is worth the $97.

ClickFunnels wins on: Template quality and A/B testing. If you care about conversion rate optimization and have templates as a starting point, ClickFunnels is ahead.
Systeme.io wins on: Price and all-in-one capability. For beginners with zero revenue, Systeme.io's free plan is unbeatable. The funnel builder is 90% as good as ClickFunnels, email is better, and price is free.
GoHighLevel wins on: CRM depth and agency features. If you're an agency managing multiple clients, GoHighLevel's CRM, SMS, and client dashboard are superior. But it's more complex than ClickFunnels.
