Our verdict

Podia is the most beginner-friendly all-in-one for solo creators in 2026. The interface is clean, the setup curve is faster than Kajabi or Thinkific, and the bundled email tool is good enough that a beginner doesn't need a separate Kit account on day one. The Mover plan at $33/month with 8% transaction fees is the obvious starting point; the Shaker plan at $75/month removes those fees and earns its keep above ~$1,000 in monthly sales. If you want one tool to handle everything for under $100/month, this is it.

What Podia actually is

Podia is a creator commerce platform. You sign up, build your storefront, and use one dashboard to sell courses, digital downloads (PDFs, templates, audio files), memberships, webinars, and live coaching sessions — while also sending email broadcasts and automations to your list. Everything ships under one flat fee.

The category competitors are Kajabi (more powerful, more expensive), Thinkific (course-focused with a generous free plan), Teachable (similar to Thinkific), Skool (community-focused), and Gumroad (per-sale fee, no flat subscription). Podia's positioning is the all-in-one for creators who don't want to stitch tools together.

What makes it stand out in 2026: the email marketing is genuinely usable (not the afterthought it is in Thinkific or Teachable), webinars are included on Shaker plan and above, and the storefront builder produces a clean site you can launch in 30 minutes without touching CSS.

Features deep-dive: what you actually get

1. Multi-product storefront

Build a clean creator storefront under your-name.podia.com or a custom domain. Add as many products as you want — courses, ebooks, templates, memberships, webinars, coaching. The default theme is professional. Bulk-edit pricing and product details. Featured products section pins your bestsellers to the top.

2. Course builder

Standard drag-drop. Add modules, then lessons (video, text, quiz, downloadable file, embed). Drip schedules supported on Mover and above. Quizzes are basic — multiple-choice and short-answer. Less flexible than Thinkific or Teachable here, but covers 80% of normal course needs.

3. Memberships

Recurring billing with multiple tiers, drip-released content, and member-only sections of your storefront. Members get a unified dashboard with all the products their membership grants access to. Comparable to Kajabi's membership feature; less granular than Skool's community-first approach.

4. Built-in email marketing

The differentiator. Send broadcasts to all subscribers or a segment, build automation flows (subscriber joins → triggers email sequence), and tag subscribers based on behaviour. Email subscriber count is bundled into your plan (5K on Mover, 15K on Shaker, 50K on Earthquaker). The interface is closer to Mailchimp than Kit — clean, basic, fast to use.

5. Webinars

On Shaker and above. Native webinar hosting up to 1,000 attendees, screen sharing, chat, polls, and a recording that auto-saves to your storefront afterwards. Quality is solid — comparable to a paid Crowdcast plan. Not a Zoom replacement for client meetings, but excellent for marketing webinars and paid workshops.

6. Affiliate programme

On Shaker and above. Recruit your own affiliates with custom commission rates, automatic tracking, and Stripe payouts. The interface is basic — fewer reporting options than ThriveCart or Kajabi — but functional for most creators running their own affiliate programme on top of their products.

Our real experience

We tested Podia for two weeks: built a 5-lesson mini-course, set up a paid newsletter membership, configured a 5-email welcome sequence, and ran a free webinar. Total setup time from signup to live: 3.5 hours. The interface is the most beginner-friendly we've used in this category — every action is one click from the dashboard, and the onboarding wizard walks you through the first product setup.

The email tool is the surprise. We expected the bundled email feature to be a tickbox-only afterthought. It's actually usable. Broadcasts send fast. Automation flows are visual and easy to build. Subscriber tagging works. We sent 200 emails through Podia during the test and the deliverability was indistinguishable from Kit. For a solo creator with an email list under 5,000, this alone removes the need for a separate $25/month tool.

Where we hit friction: storefront customisation. We wanted to add a custom hero section with a video and a personalised CTA. Podia's storefront builder doesn't allow that level of layout control. The workaround was a custom landing page on Carrd that linked to our Podia checkout. Not a deal-breaker, but worth knowing if your brand has strong visual standards.

The other friction: webinar reliability. We ran one test webinar with 8 attendees. The webinar started fine but two attendees reported audio dropouts mid-session. This is anecdotal and may have been their connection, but it's worth noting that Podia's webinar feature isn't as battle-tested as a dedicated tool like Crowdcast.

Pricing breakdown

PlanPriceTransaction feeBest for
Free$0N/A (can't sell)Testing the platform
Mover$33/mo8%First-time creators, low-volume sales
Shaker$75/mo0%Most creators — webinars, affiliates, 0% fees
Earthquaker$166/mo0%Established creators, 50K email subs, advanced features

Annual discount: roughly 17% off if you pay annually. Mover drops to $27/month annual. Shaker to $63/month annual.

Break-even point on Shaker upgrade: if you're processing more than ~$1,000/month in sales, the $42/month difference between Mover and Shaker is recovered by the saved 8% transaction fees ($1,000 × 8% = $80, minus $42 cost difference = $38/month profit on the upgrade).

Frequently asked questions

What is Podia?
Podia is an all-in-one creator commerce platform that bundles online courses, digital downloads, memberships, webinars, and email marketing under one flat monthly fee. You build your storefront, host all your products, send emails, and process payments without needing additional tools. It's positioned as a more affordable alternative to Kajabi for solo creators.
Podia vs Kajabi — which is better?
Kajabi is more powerful with deeper marketing automation, full sales funnels, advanced analytics, and a more polished interface. Podia is significantly cheaper ($33–75/month vs Kajabi's $149/month entry) with all the core features (courses, memberships, downloads, email) included. For creators with under 1,000 customers and a budget under $100/month, Podia. For established creators wanting full marketing automation, Kajabi.
Does Podia have a free plan?
Podia has a free plan that lets you set up your storefront and start collecting email subscribers, but you cannot sell paid products on the free tier. To sell anything, you need at minimum the Mover plan at $33/month. The free plan is mainly useful for testing the platform before committing.
What are Podia's transaction fees?
Podia charges 8% transaction fees on the Mover plan ($33/month), 0% on the Shaker plan ($75/month) and above. Stripe and PayPal payment processing fees (2.9% + 30¢) apply on every plan. For creators expecting more than ~$1,000/month in sales, the Shaker plan pays for itself by removing the 8% fee.
Can Podia handle email marketing?
Yes. Podia includes email marketing on every paid plan — broadcasts, automations, segments, and email subscribers up to your plan limit (5,000 on Mover, 15,000 on Shaker, 50,000 on Earthquaker). It's a basic but functional email tool, comparable to Kit's free tier. Not a full replacement for ConvertKit/Beehiiv if email is your primary channel.
Does Podia have an affiliate program?
Yes. Podia runs a partner program offering 30% recurring commission on every paid customer you refer, paid monthly via PayPal. Cookie window is 60 days. Commissions continue as long as the referred customer stays subscribed.
