Why most beginners fail at social media (it's not what you think)

It's not the algorithm. It's not your follower count. It's the first sentence.

If your opening line doesn't stop a thumb mid-scroll, nothing else matters. The video doesn't get watched. The caption doesn't get read. The link in bio doesn't get clicked.

The good news: this is a learnable, repeatable skill — and AI can do the heavy lifting while you focus on showing up consistently.

What you'll get in this guide: The 4-part AI prompt formula I use to write every social post. Works on ChatGPT, Claude, and Canva. Free. Takes under 5 minutes once you know the structure.

The 4-part AI prompt that stops scrolls

Most people type "write me a TikTok caption about side hustles" and get something generic and forgettable. This structure is different.

1

Hook — the first line that earns the next

Tell the AI: write a one-sentence hook that creates curiosity, fear of missing out, or a bold claim. The best hooks on TikTok are 7–12 words and reference a specific problem.

2

Relatable pain — make them feel seen

One or two sentences that describe the exact feeling your audience has before they find your solution. "I was spending 3 hours writing content and getting 47 views." Specific beats vague.

3

Solution — what changed, not how

Describe the result, not the full method. Save the method for the guide, the video, or the bio link. Keep this to 1–3 sentences. Leave them wanting more.

4

CTA — one action only

"Follow for Part 2" / "Link in bio for the free guide" / "Comment READY and I'll send the template". One CTA. Never two — it splits attention and kills action.

The exact prompt to paste into ChatGPT or Claude

Copy this. Paste it. Fill in the [brackets]. Hit send.

Write a social media post using this structure: 1. HOOK (1 sentence, 7–12 words, creates curiosity or fear of missing out) 2. PAIN (1–2 sentences describing the exact problem my audience feels before discovering [TOPIC]) 3. SOLUTION (1–3 sentences describing the result they'll get — not the full method) 4. CTA (one single action: follow, comment, or link in bio) My niche: [YOUR NICHE — e.g. making money online, fitness for busy parents, forex trading] Platform: [TikTok / Instagram / Pinterest / LinkedIn] Tone: direct, honest, beginner-friendly. No hype. No promises of overnight success. Length: under 150 words total. Do NOT include hashtags — I'll add those manually.
EU compliance tip: If the post promotes a product you earn commission from, add "AD" or "#ad" to the caption and say "this is sponsored" in the first 3 seconds of the video. Required under the EU's Unfair Commercial Practices Directive. TikTok and Instagram also require this independently.

Which platform should you start on?

📱

TikTok

Best for zero-follower reach. Algorithm shows your content to non-followers. Start here if you want fast feedback.

📸

Instagram

Best for Reels (same algorithm boost as TikTok). Cross-post your TikTok videos here to double reach with zero extra effort.

📌

Pinterest

Underrated. Pins rank in Google. One good pin drives traffic for years. Great for blog or guide promotions.

💼

LinkedIn

Best organic reach for B2B and professional niches. Text posts outperform images here. Lower competition than TikTok.

Frequently asked questions

What free AI tools can I use to write social media posts?

The best free options are: ChatGPT (free tier), Claude.ai (free tier), Canva Magic Write (free plan), and Notion AI (basic use). For TikTok-specific captions, ChatGPT with a well-crafted prompt outperforms purpose-built caption generators in most tests.

Do I need to disclose that my posts were written by AI?

In the EU, the requirement is to disclose commercial relationships and paid promotions — not the use of AI writing tools. If you're promoting a product or earning a commission, you must add #ad or #sponsored. The fact that AI helped you write the post does not require separate disclosure under current EU law (as of 2026).

Can AI write posts that actually get views?

Yes — with the right prompts. Raw AI output often sounds generic. The 4-part formula in this guide forces AI to write in a format proven to stop scrolls. You still need to post consistently — AI just removes the "staring at blank screen" problem.

Is this guide really free?

Yes. The guide and all the AI tools recommended have free tiers. The email list is free. I do recommend affiliate products (with clear disclosure) that I've tested personally — you'll never be pushed to buy anything.
