Why this checklist exists

Most TikTok affiliate guides give you the theory. This checklist gives you the exact steps, in the exact order, with exact time estimates. No guesswork.

I tested this setup across five different niches. The sequence that gets you from zero to your first click fastest is: pick one programme → get one link → point your bio at it → make one video → check analytics on day 7. That's it. The checklist walks you through every sub-step.

The one thing most beginners miss: UTM parameters on the affiliate link. Without them, you can't tell whether your clicks came from TikTok, Instagram, or Pinterest. Add them before you post your first video — not after.

The EU disclosure rule — non-negotiable

If you're in the EU (or posting to an EU audience), disclosing paid partnerships isn't optional. The EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive requires it. TikTok also requires it under their Creator Marketplace Terms.

What you need to do, every time:

Don't skip this. TikTok can remove videos and suspend accounts that promote products without disclosure. EU regulators can fine businesses for undisclosed commercial content. The disclosure takes 3 seconds to add.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start with zero followers?

Yes. TikTok's algorithm surfaces content to non-followers based on engagement signals — not follower count. New accounts regularly get 1,000–10,000 views on their first video. You don't need followers to get clicks. You need a good first 3 seconds.

Do I need to disclose affiliate links in the EU?

Yes. EU law requires disclosure of any commercial relationship. Add #ad to your caption and say it out loud or show it on screen in the first 10 seconds. The full disclosure template is in the checklist.

Which affiliate programme should I start with?

ClickBank and Digistore24 are easiest — free accounts, no approval needed for most products, 50–75% commissions on digital products. Start with one, not both.

How long until my first sale?

Most beginners who post 3–4 times per week see their first click within 7–14 days and their first sale within 30–60 days. There are no guarantees. Results depend on niche, video quality, and how well the affiliate offer converts.

Do I need a website?

No. A free link-in-bio page (Beacons, Linktree, or Systeme.io free tier) is enough to start. A website helps long-term but is not required for your first commissions.

Results vary. Affiliate marketing income is not guaranteed. Past results of others do not predict your results. This checklist is educational, not financial advice.
